Residential pool builders serving Baytown and East Houston. Design, permits, build, and start-up — in-house, with a 15+ year track record.
Building a pool is one of the larger home investments you'll ever make, and it shows in your backyard for decades. It deserves a builder who listens before drawing, plans the details up front, and doesn't cut corners on the parts you can't see later. At P-Jay's Pools we've been building custom residential pools across Baytown and East Houston for 15+ years, and our customers stay with us well after the build for ongoing maintenance and repair.
Every pool we build is designed around how you'll actually use it. Family swimming, entertaining, exercise laps, a resort-feel spa retreat — the design, depth, shape, and features should all serve that use. We'll ask questions most builders skip.
Gunite/shotcrete. The right construction method for custom shapes and long-term durability in the Gulf Coast climate.
Standard plaster for budget builds, Pebble and quartz blends for higher-end finishes that last longer and look better over time. We'll walk through color and texture samples during design.
Glass tile, ceramic, porcelain, natural stone coping, cast concrete, travertine, brick. Material choice affects both budget and maintenance — we'll explain which materials handle Baytown's water chemistry best.
Broom-finish concrete, cool-deck textures, stamped concrete, flagstone, travertine, and pavers. We select for heat tolerance, slip resistance, and long-term durability.
Attached spa, tanning ledge / Baja shelf, beach entry, sheer-descent waterfall, rock waterfall, deck jets, bubblers, fire features, swim-up bench. Almost any of these can be integrated if we plan for them in design.
Variable-speed pumps (almost always the right choice now for efficiency), high-performance filters, gas or heat-pump heaters, LED pool lighting, modern automation, and salt chlorination where preferred.
A typical residential gunite build takes 8–14 weeks from permit approval to fill. Weather, material lead times, and design complexity can push either direction. We build a weekly schedule during planning so you know what to expect and when the loud days are.
Pool budgets vary widely. The biggest drivers are size/depth, shape complexity, interior finish, decking square footage, and features (spa, water features, automation, heating). During design, we'll price line items so you can see where each dollar goes and decide what's in the first phase versus a future upgrade. We don't pressure sell add-ons.
New plaster requires 28–30 days of careful start-up chemistry to cure properly. Brush daily, avoid common chemicals during certain windows, and watch calcium carefully. We handle the start-up in every build, and most customers transition straight into our weekly maintenance plan.
“These guys are the best. They are reasonable and always there anytime I call. Jeff explains everything he is doing and why. If you need a pool company these guys do not disappoint.”
“After dealing with several pool companies, we came across P'Jays Pools — one of the best decisions we've made. All work comes with a warranty. Customer service is great and they always explain what they're doing and why.”
